178997Photo #178997Dangerous drivers jumping traffic-lights at junction of Marsh Wall and Westferry Road, E14. Crossing is too close to the edge of the junction and many drivers (including HGVs and buses) just drive straight through even when the lights are on red, endangering pedestrians and cyclists. Something needs to be done urgently before there is a fatal incident here.Track:

176149Photo #176149The pavement on Manilla Street has been badly damaged. This damage is adjacent to the large building site at the eastern end of the road. The pavement by the dropped kerb at the entrance to the building site is now so smashed that a wheelchair user would not be able to use this section. In addition, today (25.11.21) the pavement was completely blocked by the builders, but no ramp was provided for wheelchair or buggy users to get down on to the road to cross to the opposite pavement. A safe and accessible pavement is crucial on this street as it is used as a rat-run by drivers avoiding the roundabout on Marsh Wall and cars and vans regularly drive past at high speed. The pavement on each side is not very wide and an accident could occur if a pedestrian is forced into the street when a speeding van is coming through. More considerate building practices are needed by this company, wider pavement with adequate dropped kerbs needs to be maintained and speed checks need to be undertaken in this area, please.Track:

175322Photo #175322Pedestrians often walking through the bushes behind Island Health Centre - unclear why, perhaps to access Glengall Grove more quickly? Overgrown trees and shrubs, drug paraphernalia and littering plague this area and there is limited pavement to ensure social distancing due to the large footfall from Asda and the health centre. I often have to walk into the road to avoid on-comers.Track:

175321Photo #175321Pepper Street is very dangerous: it has delivery trucks and cars driving through the pedestrianized zone at all times of the day and night, huge potholes where paving bricks and pieces of metal grating are continually missing and never fixed by the private landlords, mopeds often zoom over the bridge and almost collide with pedestrians and there is limited social distancing as there is so much pedestrians and car/van traffic in one small area, plus contractors loiter under the arches, smoking, vaping and spitting onto the street. Tower Hamlets Council is aware of the problems in this area, but have stated it is up to the private landlords to make the pavement safe! 27 October 2021.Track:

175320Photo #175320Damaged pavement (many blocks missing), fly-tipping and encroachment of builder's hoardings have made this area unpleasant and unable to socially distance when walking along this section of the Millharbour wharf. Tower Hamlets Council need to ensure that developers of multi-billion pound flats (which benefit from wharf views) are contributing monies properly to keep the wharfside areas in good and safe condition. 27 October 2021.Track:

175319Photo #175319Pavement continually clogged by litter, fly-tipping and domestic bins left permanently on the path behind the Delta Fitness building (old Hope and Anchor pub) on Westferry Road, E14. Urgent action is needed by Tower Hamlets Council to ensure this walkway is kept clear of debris and safe for pedestrians as it is often strewn with rubbish and attracts vermin. Social distancing on this section of the alley is impossible as trying to avoid all the dumped items and abandoned bins pushes passers-by into one small area. 27th October 2021Track:

175318Photo #175318Commercial bins and fly-tipping regularly blocking the pavement here and on bin day the path is impassable! Users of wheelchairs, parents with buggies (as it is next to a nursery) and those with limited mobility often have to go into the road to get along this area to avoid the detritus on the pavements. Social distancing is also impossible when these narrow streets are congested with bins. Urgent improvements and enforcement are needed from Tower Hamlets Council to turn this area back into one that locals can walk down safely. 27th October 21Track:

At the junction where you come out the park there is no suitable lip to get onto the road for cyclists.. When the football is on, cars park half on the pavement all the way down Lindfield Street. It is very difficult to even walk down the road, let alone for buggies, wheelchair users.
